Responsible Travel in Batangas: 88-km Trash-free Walk Around Taal Lake

General Objective

To promote environmental awareness towards responsible travel and eco-friendly journey

Specific Objective

  • To apply and demonstrate low-impact, low-waste practices
  • To conduct LNT lectures while stopped or taking rest at specific locations
  • To complete the walk
    • without buying bottled water (by utilizing BYO tumbler), and
    • without leaving trash across all cities and townsalong the route (by utilizing NTB:BYOTH)

  • Environmental protection and community care
    • NTB:BYOTH (No Trash Bin: Bring Your Own Trash Home) – No trash left across all towns and cities along the route
    • BYO – Bring Your Own reusable water/food containers, mess kit/utensils, personal trash bag, eco-bag to avoid disposables
    • LNT – Leave No Trace
    • CLAYGO – Clean as you go
  • Self-preservation and personal logistics
    • Open to the public – Punta ka lang
    • At own risk – Bahala ka sa buhay mo
    • Self-contained – Dalhin mo ang mga kailangan mo
    • BYO – Bring Your Own food/snacks and water in reusable containers. Meals and water refill at karinderia/eateries/fast-food along the way.
