A Manila-based mountaineer and long-distance walker has commenced his attempt to walk around Mount Isarog solo with the tallest hotel in Naga City as his starting point.
At 0906am 12/26/2024, Lito De Veterbo, also known as Mister LNT in Philippine mountaineering community, departed Uma Hotel and Residences to begin his journey to circumnavigate Mount Isarog on foot, equipped with the will and grit to face the challenges brought by heat and rain.

Prior to embarking in this walk, Lito paid a courtesy at Naga City Hall, where he was met by city officials.

In pursuing this year-end long-distance walk, Lito takes with him these objectives:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To be the first person to do a circumnavigation of Mount Isarog on foot
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:
- To encourage people to walk as an expense-free form of exercise
- To promote Leave No Trace as a set of guidelines to protect and reduce impacts on Mount Isarog
- To create environmental awareness and highlight discipline by not leaving any trash in all the towns and city along the way
This solo, self-supported journey would take four days to complete covering approximately 110 kms in a clockwise direction. A native of Naga but is now based in Manila, Lito will traverse nine towns and one city to complete the whole 360-degree loop. These are (in alphabetical order and not necessarily the route):
- Bombon
- Calabanga
- Canaman
- Goa
- Magarao
- Naga City
- Ocampo
- Pili
- Tigaon
- Tinambac

The journey would be similar to the record-setting 133-km Marinduque loop walk which was documented by Marinduque News Network and completed in four days across six towns.
